About me

So – Who is Abigail?

Short form–I am a middle-aged artist who loves Fairy gardens!

When I was young  I always loved to be outside. I just wanted to be outside. I liked to be alone and play with the plants, the bugs, my cat, and imagination. I could spend hours by myself playing outside in my own little world.

Creating magical realms is still where I love to be. That’s why I love to make Fairy gardens. My miniatures make little worlds where you can escape. It’s my hope that you will create these same little displays in your own neck of the woods, somewhere you can clear your mind and believe everything’s gonna be ok. A beautiful Fairy garden is someplace that you can take your friends to, or your children, or grandchildren, and help them to see something really special.

Everything that I make is done with special care and thought to create a realistic magical world. You won’t find harsh or candy colors on my pieces. I try to make miniatures that look like the Elves and Sprites have helped in their creation. Something that you can actually believe in. People always ask me if I believe in Fairy gardens. I believe in Jesus, but I make Fairy gardens.

When I was young I used to play in a fern garden. At least that’s what I called it. I was a very small child and these ferns were in-between two buildings, standing about three to four feet tall. The sun was shaded, because it was in between the two buildings, which was something cool and refreshing in southern California. So I enjoyed being in there. I would get down, low, right into the ferns, and I could create little magical worlds with stones and seashells and my little Barbie pieces, and whatever magical things that I thought I could find. I would create and play and I loved it out there. It just made me happy. Creating miniatures takes me right back there.

Often, would love to stay in my “happy little head” as I like to call it. I’m not very good at doing all of the marketing that this business requires: like emails, and social media, posting, and making blog posts, doing the website, and loading all the products in. If I do something wrong, please give me a little grace. I’m not good at it. But I have to get the word out, so I do the best I can! Many times I would love to just stay in my “happy little head” and make more and more and more magical items. My husband says that would make a real gap- that it’s the desire to create that keeps me going. He thinks if all did was make, I would somehow run out of ideas. Silly! I don’t believe him. But we’ve been married 30 years so he might know a thing or two.

Anyway, just wanted to share a little bit about me and who I am. Just know that if you need something that isn’t  on the site, just drop me a line. Maybe we can create together. Or, if you see something that I goofed up on the site, or on social, or email, you’ll know I tried. Let me know and I’ll see if I can fix it. I was probably off somewhere dreaming….

to you and all of yours,

happy Fairy gardening!
